FAQs

Q: How long will it take to receive my funds?

A: The process for successful submission of a claim may take between 1-3 days. Once this is complete the holding organization will release the funds. Every organization and agency has their own time limit for releasing funds that were being held. We’ll make you aware of the corresponding release policy of the holding agency.

Q: Can I collect these Funds on my Own?

A: The process for claiming funds that may be due requires the filing of a form that must be submitted within a certain time period. It may also require hiring a legal advisor, which could be costly if doing so on your own. Attorneys and advisors often require upfront fees that need to be paid whether or not they are able to successfully recover funds.

The process of recovering unclaimed funds can feel daunting due to the extensive work that needs to be completed. Some claims can be very complex. We take the guesswork out of this process as specialized professionals in the field who know the ins and out of claims recovery. There is nothing to invest upfront and we take care of any associate claims recovery expenses.

Q: What is the time limit that I have to claim for the money owed to me?

A: This depends on the organization and state laws. It is in your best interest to authorize us to help you as soon as you learn about unclaimed assets owed to you. If a certain period of time passes, you may lose the ability to submit a claim and funds will be acquired by the holding agency at a loss to the rightful owner. Act now and act fast in responding to our communication.

Q: Why didn’t anyone contact me about these unclaimed funds?

A: The holding agency may not have been able to contact you if they didn’t have the correct contact details. Letters may only be mailed to addresses that the office has on file. Most of these agencies are aware of laws in place for claims submission. They know that once a certain period of time passes, they will be allowed to keep the funds if they go unclaimed. It is not in the agency’s best interest to make it known to you if the desire is to actually retain funds once the lawful claim time expires.

Q: Where did the funds come from?

A: Most unclaimed funds can come from a variety of sources including but not limited to uncashed checks, store returns, insurance proceeds and benefits, stocks, bonds, inheritance money or lost wages. If you’ve received communications from us, we have located unclaimed funds or assets that do not make it to these lists. Our investigative searches are extensive and the lists we utilize are not always public.
